Of late, I have been travelling via the KL rail system quite frequently. It is indeed a refound pleasure mingling with the public going to work and back as oppossed to driving your own car - such a solitary act. I found that being in such constant contact opens up my senses. My observation of my surroundings become more accute and amusing at times.
The most glaring observation I made was how little there is smiling in our society. Everyone is so glum even in the mornings - a new beginning, a fresh start, a launching platform. I wonder how their day will be like if they start off the day with such an attitude.
I once remember telling my 6 year old son that he must start the day with a smile. The first thing you do when you open up your eyes is SMILE and say to yourself " I have been given another day on this earth". I do this since I've always consider going to sleep is like "death" since the state you are in is similar, not in the physiological way but in "being" kind of a way. Consider this. When we sleep, we are not aware of our surroundings, we forget what happens during sleep, a state of comatose. That is the closest we will ever get to death withour really dying.
I want to start documenting little things that I do to make a difference to this world. This will be my list of reminders. When the list grows and I perform them constantly I will no more be making a small difference but a large one since bits make bytes and bytes make megabytes and so on and so forth. And if over time others do this too then it will multiply.
Funny how we know that bits and pieces grows into bigger piles yet we don't even make that small 'insignificant' bit. So I will start off by SMILING every morning when I wake up. The first small difference to the world start for me and with me :)
